List of 21 Non-Toxic Swaps
1. Grass-Fed Meats:
Butcher Box offers a premium selection of high-quality, grass-fed meats that have been sustainably sourced. These meats are free from antibiotics and hormones which are essential because these added chemicals have been found to contribute to several health problems. Replacing conventional meat with grass-fed is a wonderful way to get more vital nutrients in your diet with the added benefit that it is delivered right to your door. Another option for grass-fed meat delivery is Wild Pastures.

Herbs are absolutly amazing in so many ways. They can help elevate your well-being and there is something for everyone. 3. Essential Oils:
Essential oils are nature’s aromatic wonders, packed with potent compounds that offer a multitude of benefits for your health. 4. Low Tox Candles:
Your everyday candles release toxic chemicals into the air which you breathe. It has been shown that conventional candles can lead to multiple health problems including headaches, coughing, sneezing and many others. The type of wax and fragrance used matters exponentially. 5. Glass Dishware:
Ditch the plastic and opt for glass dishware. Glass doesn’t leach harmful chemicals into your food like plastic containers do, and glass can withstand elevated temperatures, making it perfect for both hot and cold dishes. These durable and eco-friendly dishes are an excellent addition to any kitchen. A brand I love is Pyrex but there are many others that can easily be found at Amazon, Walmart, Target etc.
6. Glass Water Bottle or Stainless Steel
Say goodbye to disposable plastic water bottles and embrace eco-friendly alternatives. Glass water bottles or stainless-steel options are not only better for the environment, but they also ensure that your drinking water remains pure and uncontaminated. Just like plastic food containers, plastic water bottles will leach chemicals into your water that you consume. Glass or stainless steel is the way to go.
Here are a few I recommend but there are SO many options out there: glass water bottle, stainless steel
7. Bamboo Cooking Utensils:
Cooking with bamboo utensils is not only practical but also environmentally friendly. Bamboo is a renewable resource and, unlike plastic, won’t leach harmful chemicals into your food. Soak in some warm water with a little vinegar.

Investing in high-quality pots is essential for anyone passionate about cooking and staying healthy. Non-toxic deodorants provide a safer way to stay fresh and confident throughout the day, without exposing your skin to unnecessary irritants. These clean and natural formulas are free from parabens, phthalates, and artificial fragrances, making them a healthier choice for your body. There are a lot of deo’s on the market claiming to be “non-toxic” so be careful and make sure to be a label detective to spot out the harmful ingredients such as fragrance (an umbrella term that can include thousands of chemicals).
A few recommended brands: Humble (extremely clean ingredients and they use biodegradable, plastic-free packing so it’s good for you and the planet, that’s a win-win.) I have overly sensitive skin and they have one of the only brands of natural deodorant that doesn’t give me a rash. I currently use mountain lavender for sensitive skin, which is baking soda free, as baking soda can be an irritating product for some. Meow Meow Tweet another option with clean ingredients and plastic-free packaging! Primally Pure is also another non-toxic option.
11. Shampoo & Conditioner:
Conventional hair care products often contain harsh chemicals, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances that can strip your hair of its natural oils, leading to dryness, damage, and potential long-term health concerns. Natural, non-toxic alternatives are free from these harmful ingredients, making them gentler on your scalp, hair, and the environment. It takes a lot of trial and error to find the right product for you but once you find it, it will be a game changer!
A few recommended hair care companies: Under Luna , 100% Pure, or you can try castile soap its extremely versatile and can also be used as a body wash!
12. Laundry Detergent:
Just like traditional shampoo and conditioner, traditional detergents often contain harsh chemicals, artificial fragrances, and toxic additives that can have adverse effects on both your health and the environment. Non-toxic detergents, prioritize clean and natural ingredients that are gentle on your skin and safer for you and your family’s health. They also reduce the risk of skin irritations and allergic reactions which are common with traditional detergents as well as softeners. It is recommended to replace your detergent, softener (these HURT your clothes, not help them), and to stop using laundry sheets if you currently add them to the dryer.
